March
2010
Dear Friends;
Greetings to you from all of us here at the Home.
Bev and I are happy
to announce the arrival of our 10th grandchild. Martha and Fernando
welcomed the arrival of their third child, Viviana, born Jan. 29th,
2010.
Martha and Fernando live in Tyler, Texas. Their other children are Robby,
age 13, and Melany, age 3.

Douglas continues to recover from his back operation.
Some days he
feels good then some days not so good. The doctor did tell him it would
be
a long slow healing process, and that he was to be patient with the
recovery. We all thank god that there has not be any serious side effects
of the operation.
In Feb. we had almost 10 inches of rain, all in one
week. That is more
rain then we have had for the whole year. The city was flooded as well
as
many of the villages near by. Our ranch is located on a hill so we had
no
flooding problems, just leaky roofs in all the houses and a lot of mud.
Today I had to cut some of our yard with the mower. That is the first
time
I ever had to cut grass in Feb in the 40 years that we have been here.
In Jan. we had two vehicles donated to the Home from
the Government
Electric Company. One is a 2004 Chevrolet pick up. The other is a 2003
Nissan sedan. Both of them have over 100,000 miles on them but are in
fairly good condition, considering that they were used as company cars.
It
took us a month to get them registered and get plates on them. I have
been
2 weeks putting them back in shape for the road. They had been setting
for
a year in a warehouse.
As I write this letter we are preparing to have a
group of 12 adults
come down for a week of work. Most of them are from the North Industry
Church, in Canton, Ohio. But there are two coming from Florida and two
coming from South Carolina. They will be here for a week doing various
work
projects that we have lined up for them. This will be the 10th year
that
they have been coming down to work.
